My name is Sue Dillon and I will be coaching the 18U team this year for Lake Murray Volleyball. I am one of the founders of Lake Murray Volleyball Club. I have served as director of this wonderful club for three years now and was co-director before that. I am currently a referee/scoring rater for the Palmetto Region and I am also in charge of certifications for our club. I began coaching at Brooklyn Cayce over 15 yrs ago and I have been coaching in one form or another ever since. I have also coached at Dutch Fork High School and I am an active member of the Columbia Volleyball Club. I still play competitively every chance I get and try hard to encourage the girls to play both indoor and outdoor volleyball. I have been playing volleyball since I was 14 and it is definitely my passion! I really enjoy being able to pass this on to the girls as I coach them. It is my hope that along with teaching the girls this wonderful sport, that I can help build their confidence which will lead to success in whatever they choose to do in the future.

I first began with Lake Murray Volleyball Club 6 years ago as I was the head coach of the 14s team. I love coaching and helping with various club tasks; membership, team tournament registration, officials’ certification, etc. I took time off in 2010 to fight breast cancer and am back with an increased passion for the life, for the sport of volleyball and the lives of those girls that we are fortunate enough to coach. I am currently a regional USA Volleyball referee/scorekeeper and rater. I play on a competitive women’s indoor team and enjoy playing grass/sand doubles during the warmer days. I didn’t discover volleyball until I came south to attend the University of South Carolina. Up north, I was heavily involved in basketball for more than 6 years. It was my life until the one day I stumbled across volleyball at the college campus. I couldn’t get enough of it! I wanted to learn more, play often and continue to gain the knowledge (and new terms like “dig” , “spike”, and “set”). Volleyball is my passion and I can’t wait to work with each and every one of those that will be involved with the club. I look forward to this being a great season!

2011-01-05 11:37:54		Happy New Year to everyone!  I am so excited about this season and want to thank everyone (players/coaches/parents) for making Lake Murray Volleyball so special!  We appreciate your patience as we work to complete the officiating requirements for the 2011 season as we prepare for our first tournament of the season (1/22/2011).  Make sure that you bookmark the club website as it will be updated with the latest information for all of the teams. Attention Players:  If you have not turned in your medical form yet, please download from the club webste and turn into your coach asap.  We need to have ALL medical forms turned in before the first tournament.
